Ehan Kamat came up with the idea for the Solemender at the age of twelve after watching his mother suffer from excruciating foot pain.
He set out to find a solution by combining cold and massage therapy to treat plantar fasciitis. Ehan prototyped, developed, and produced the Solemender which is now sold at multiple retailers in Saint Louis and online. He is involved with every aspect of the company including marketing, sales, ecommerce and distribution.
He is an eleventh grader who is an active participant of his high school robotics team helming their 3D printing group. He enjoys speaking to students and has given multiple presentations at STEM nights. He has presented at MakerFaire Kansas City 2015 and participated in GlobalHack Saint Louis. He is the winner of the Startup Weekend Saint Louis 2015, Saint Louis University Teen Escalator Pitch Contest 2015 and Saint Louis University Angels in the Outfield Pitch Contest 2016.
He was named by Upstart magazine as one of the top twenty-one inventors in the United States in 2016.
Besides entrepreneurship, he plays the table and enjoys being a maker, ceramic throwing and casting, travelling, cooking, photography, hanging out with his two younger brothers and playing with his dog, Coco.
