Give us an hour and we’ll give you the world. Well, maybe not the entire world, but our three types of workshops will introduce, educate and inspire students to explore entrepreneurship, which could open a whole new world of possibilities for them. The presentations teach and review information on market opportunity analysis, marketing plans, business strategy and finance and include success stories from members of Independent Youth’s Teen Entrepreneur Network and other successful entrepreneurs like Fred DeLuca, the 17 year old founder of Subway. The Basics of Becoming a Young Entrepreneur
This 1 hour introduction program gives students an overview of entrepreneurship. Students will become familiar with the basic terminology and concepts while exploring their interests in entrepreneurship. This workshop aims to increase student awareness on entrepreneurship as another career path. During the presentation the students attention is captured through an interactive presentation incorporating stories of teen entrepreneurs who have created successful businesses. The program ends with a group activity that encourages students to think in a creative way while addressing issues of entrepreneurship through a basic case study. A workshop fee does apply.
Diving Into Youth Entrepreneurship
A more in-depth review of entrepreneurship, this program provides greater detail in areas such as strategy, marketing, finance and operations. In addition, the hands-on entrepreneurial focused student activities are more extensive, giving each student a deeper understanding of the ins and outs of owning and running a business. Independent Youth works with the school to custom tailor this program based on student needs and interests and offers the option of bringing this program in on a one-time basis or multiple times as an entrepreneurial series. Workshop fees apply.
Independent Youth Biz-Reality

We provide all the tools, including workbooks and worksheets, enabling students to develop a business plan, build a website and operate their business. Throughout the course of the program Independent Youth coaches will meet with students to answer questions and help guide their work. Workshop fees apply.
