Tanya J. Hamilton, MBA
Ms. Tanya J. Hamilton is the Founder/Executive Director of Independent Youth. She began her career in marketing and business development, gaining professional experience in various industries including; professional sports, healthcare, technology and Real Estate. Utilizing the knowledge and skills she obtained over the years, Ms. Hamilton followed her passion of working with youth to build strong, confident, educated entrepreneurs. Ms. Hamilton has a Masters of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from The University of Portland and an Undergraduate Degree in Business Management from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.
Tiffany Dashiell, MNPO
Ms. Tiffany Dashiell is a Management Analyst with the Bureau of Land Management where she has served in the position since 2001. During her tenure she has served in a number of roles including budget, property, and human capital analyst for maintenance operations, competitive sourcing liaison, and leadership team support. Ms. Dashiell currently serves as the National Property Operations analyst, where her job is to ensure optimal use of Real and Personal Property. Ms. Dashiell obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science with emphasis in Agricultural Business from Tennessee State University. She obtained her Masters of Public Administration with emphasis in Nonprofit Management from Portland State University.
Julian Cheek, MBA
Mr. Julian Cheek is an expert in IT data storage management and visualization technologies. With over six years experience managing and implementing IT projects for various corporate institutions in the US, China, and India. Julian has gained a breadth of experience working with companies who run their IT operations domestically and abroad. He is the Founder and President of Cheek Advisory Services, an IT consulting firm that counsels a variety of corporate clients on purchasing new technology infrastructure products to lower their overall operating costs and gain competitive advantages. Cheek Advisory services also run and implement large scale technology infrastructure replacement projects for a range of corporate clients nationally and overseas. He received his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte NC and an Executive MBA from the University of North Carolina, Hong Kong, China Campus.
Anne Farina, MSW, LCSW
Anne Farina joined Independent Youth’s Board of Directors in 2014. She brings with her over ten years of experience in program development, evaluation, and administration. She graduated with her MSW in 2003 and obtained her LCSW in 2007. She has extensive training in the areas if trauma and attachment and has received clinical training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Structured Sensory Intervention, play therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. Anne has clinical experience working with refugees and immigrants, children in foster care, children who were adopted, families, and couples. She believes strongly in research based programming and clinical practice and has developed a somatic based intervention called Somatic Soothing. Anne also has experience teaching in the School if Social Work at Washington University and has served as field instructor for MSW and BSSW students.
Ms. Ann Hamilton is an ABR, GRI certified licensed broker in Missouri, Illinois and Oklahoma. Founder of Hamilton Group Realty, she specializes in Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, and New Home Development. Prior to opening Hamilton Group Realty, she was a top selling agent at Coldwell Banker. As a serial entrepreneur, Ms. Hamilton has over 20 years of experience starting, developing and running multiple successful businesses. Her experience lies in various industries including; Youth Development, Real Estate, and Finance. She received her Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration from The University of Missouri – St. Louis.
Chris Heivly is one of the nation’s leading experts in how to turn startups into multimillion-dollar companies and has been dubbed the “Startup Whisperer.” For over 30 years, Heivly has worked at the highest levels for some of the world’s most recognized brands, including MapQuest, Rand McNally, and Accenture. He has also personally directed over $75 million in investment capital on behalf of these and other companies. Heivly current serves as one of two managing directors of The Startup Factory, the largest seed investment firm in the Southeast. Chris writes for INC.COM, his blog at heivly.com and has just published his first book about startups called Build The Fort.
For the last 20+ years, Tim Hayden has been involved in entrepreneurship, sports business, entertainment, digital media and marketing. Tim is the Director of the nationally recognized Center for Entrepreneurship in the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University. In addition, he is a Senior Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship where he teaches the capstone, Advanced Business Planning class to MBA and Undergraduate students in U.S. News & World Report’s 13th best Entrepreneurship program in the nation. External to Saint Louis University, Tim is a managing partner for The Stadia Group, which is a digital marketing and social media consulting firm for Fortune 500 companies, sports properties and sponsors. Tim has founded several companies including Vivid Sky, which created one of the first mobile applications for sports fans to access instant replays, stats, and info-graphics through their mobile devices. In addition, he helped start two professional soccer teams, Saint Louis Athletica (WPS) and AC St. Louis (NASL) while reengineering the business side of a multi-million dollar soccer complex called Soccer Park. Tim also serves as an advisor for various for-profit and not-for-profit companies including FanzLive, PixelPress, Independent Youth, and 100+ student created businesses.
